SJA's CYO soccer program consists of a fall and spring season, each with separate registration deadlines. A child may play one or both seasons. Each season consists of 6-8 games, which are followed by a single elimination tournament for grades 5-8. The games begin the week after Labor Day and conclude in late October.
SJA teams will participate in four leagues within the CYO Program, each playing other schools from the Toledo area. The leagues are based on grade, not age: 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th.
Players/parents should anticipate having 1 or 2 evening practices per week. Gamers are typically scheduled for Saturday and Sunday afternoons. CYO will post schedules the last week of August.
Fall 2008 Program Information
1. Registration deadline: August 8, 2008 - I must have the registration form and fee before the deadline to guarantee your child's participation this season. The program filing deadline is the following week with CYO. We are unable to add teams once the CYO deadline passes.
2. Coaches identified and teams will be created the week of 8/11/2008.
3. Practices begin the week of 8/18/2008.
4. Attention 1st and 2nd grade parents: If you have a soccer shirt from a prior season (and it still fits!), you do not need to purchase a new shirt. If your child needs a game jersey, please add $5.00 to the registration fee and indicate above what size shirt your child wears.
What You Need to Do
- Fillout the registration form, player's contract, and emergency medical contact form. Each is linked below.
- Prepare a $35 check made payable to “St. Joan of Arc”. Please do not include other sports with this payment. This registration will be non-refundable after registration payment is made to CYO.
- Please remit the registration form with payment to the school office (marked "Soccer Registration") before the end of this school year or mail to Steve Irwin, 2217 Old Planke Road, Holland, Ohio 43528.

Important Information to Coaches
SJA has benefited from many dedicated coaches in the past; new coaches are always welcome (regardless of experience). Please be aware that CYO is now requiring (due to Ohio House Bill 350) all coaches to obtain a training certification. The 6-hour training program is paid by SJA’s athletic program. A 3-hour coaches re-certification training program is required annually to maintain a coaches certification status.

Player's Contract
CYO requires a physician’s signature on the player’s CYO contract. This is an annual requirement. The form below should be completed by your family physician or physicals will be conducted at SJA in early August.
